New Build

New croft on rocky slope overlooking sea with section following slope but maximising views. Designed on energy efficient principles - heavily insulated timber frame, air source heat pump, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, wind turbine, solar collectors and large south facing windows.

Prefabricated timber frame, shipped from mainland, clad with corrugated metal sheet roofing and larch vertical boarding.

Larch cladding and much internal work carried out by Owner who also project managed whole operation.

Reid Architects was formed in 1990 and the practice has completed a large number of both residential and commercial projects, including housing schemes and home extensions.
